About SLCU

The School of Law offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral programmes in law as per the guidelines of the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission. It has a flexible curriculum offering several options in different areas of specialization. It is devised keeping in mind the requirements of legal profession and academia.

The programmes offered at the School of Law incorporate a number of special opportunities such as internships, clinical programme, supervisory research and writing. In order to promote interaction between students and legal professionals, seminars, guest lectures and workshops are conducted on various subjects of law at regular intervals. In addition to the mandatory courses spanning across a ten semester programme, the School of Law has also introduced numerous other value-added courses and programmes for the benefit of students.

About SBA (Student Bar Association)

The Student Bar Association (SBA) serves as the representative student body of the School of Law, fostering academic engagement, professional development, and institutional collaboration. Functioning through a dynamic network of specialised committees dedicated to diverse branches of law, the SBA creates platforms for discourse, advocacy, research, and experiential learning.

From organising conferences, competitions, and legal aid initiatives to facilitating dialogue between students and the administration, the Association seeks to cultivate leadership, intellectual rigour, and a vibrant legal culture within the institution. Rooted in professionalism and student participation, the SBA stands as a catalyst for holistic legal education and collective growth.

The Journal Committee is dedicated to advancing academic and legal scholarship through the publication of high-quality, research-driven content. By curating journals, articles, and scholarly initiatives, the Committee fosters critical discourse, encourages intellectual inquiry, and provides students with a platform to engage meaningfully with contemporary legal and socio-political developments.

Newsletter Committee

The Newsletter Committee spearheads VINK – Your Voice, Our Ink, the official weekly newsletter of the School of Law. With over 50 editions published, the Committee has consistently fostered informed engagement through student voices, campus narratives, legal discourse, and creative expression, while cultivating a dynamic culture of journalism, collaboration, and storytelling within the institution.
